Cleantech and electrification are
essential to the EU’s green energy transition and economic security. However,
Europe faces substantial investment gaps and growing global competition,
particularly from China as it expands its industrial dominance in cleantech.
The EU’s new Clean Industrial Deal sets ambitious targets for electrification
and domestic cleantech production, but achieving these goals will require more
effective use of existing resources and greater mobilisation of private and
public investment.
This event will discuss how the EU can ramp up investment
in cleantech and electricity infrastructure. It will discuss the upcoming
Multiannual Financial Framework and how the planned Competitiveness Fund can
best be designed to mobilise additional public and private financing to close
Europe’s cleantech investment gap.
Participation
is open to EPC members only, the media, and EU officials.
